A Young Picasso

I decided to start the summer fun activities a few weeks early. Matt was nice enough to pick up some finger paints when he was at Wal Mart (even though he gave me one of those "Are you serious?" faces-he was just going quickly to pick up a book for himself). He decided to pick them up anyway - what a nice husband :).

Not too sure what to do at first.

I gave him a brush and he didn't want to use his fingers anymore!

Proud of what he's done so far.

Testing the limits...how much can I paint on the floor before mom stops me :).

Testing out the splatter technique.

The paci was need for some extra concentration.

Once the paci was gone his mouth had to be held just right...

He decided that I need a little more color.

Admiring his work.

Unable to wait for me to help him add some more yellow to his paper.

Quite a look of concern while showing off his new yellow tint, thanks to the finger paint.

His first response when I asked "Where's your painting Graedy?"

And the next response when I asked again. He said "Riiiiiie Thae (Right there)".

Can't wait for the next painting adventure!

Potential burglars...keep out!

Graedy got a new toy from his gram...a shotgun! How he loves his gun!

Doesn't he look tough?

I would be scared to break into our house if I saw this lawman hangin' out in the front yard.

We have had several crying fits the few days the gun was left at our house. As a result...the gun now stays at his Gram's! (We may have to go borrow it a few times this summer-and I'll have to work on the fits!)

My Little Helper

A few weeks ago, as I was busily trying to finish things up for the end of the school year, Graedy decided that he'd help me out. As I was typing, paying bills, etc., he was feeling a little itchy and decided that he'd grab the lotion and lotion himself up. Trouble was it wasn't lotion...it was DESITIN! If you've ever used Desitin, you know it's like crisco-that stuff is so difficult to get off! With a little help from Matt (he bathed him while I cleaned myself up-holding a kid covered in Desitin can get you a little messy!) he was cleaned up and ready to go in about 15 minutes. In case you were wondering where Matt was while Graedy was "lotioning" himself up-he was taking his self-imposed xbox break for the evening :).

Too smart

So there are no pictures to go with this one, just one funny little story!

I'll start with a little background. Matt and I are pretty good at taking turns with Graedy and relieving each other when we get totally frazzled. He has been into EVERYTHING the last few months, and when one or the other of us gets tired of chasing him around we call to the other (who is usually upstairs taking in the few moments of quiet time we get each day) "_______! Come get your son!"

So the other day, Matt was upstairs and Graedy really wanted him. He was getting tired and usually goes into destruction mode when he knows that it's time to go to sleep (he knocks over anything he can get his hands on). He wanted to go upstairs and I was in the middle of something so I kept telling him, "just a few more minutes". Well, he'd had enough of "just a few more minutes" so he grabbed an index card with the word "cat" on it that I had hanging on the fridge, threw it on the ground, and yelled " Ma (Matt)! Come get son!!!!" I couldn't help but laugh! Of course I stopped what I was doing and took him upstairs to see his dad.

He is so sharp and picks up on so much. He really amazes me every day!
