Disneyland March 2011
Happy Birthday to Mommy! What would I like for my birthday? Disneyland, of course! Matt, Graedy, Mitch and my mom accompanied me.
Waiting in line at Pirates.

Still waiting!

We're so close!

Excited to see Buzz again. He's got to be Graedy's favorite character. I really don't ever get tired of this place. It's going to be a long wait until Kellsie's old enough to go!

The ninja strikes again!
Once again, when mom and dad aren't looking! This is exactly how I found the butter. It was not full, thankfully, when he started. I think he got about 3 spoonfuls before I caught him. I've never known anyone who will eat just butter. I'm hoping he does it for the shock value, and that it's not a sign of future bad eating habits!

Missing his younger days
While the cat's away, the mouse will play
While I was busy working on Kellsie's room, Graedy decided to have some fun of his own! Found the baby powder and decided to powder himself, as well as the family room.
Preparing the nursery
After finding out we were having a girl I was sooo excited to start decorating the nursery. I started gathering ideas the day we found out, but wanted to wait until we had the amneo results-I didn't want to jinx anything! After being on pins and needles for 3 looong weeks, we got the news that she was perfect! Let the decorating begin!
It began as a blank canvas, just waiting for some color. I was all too happy to add it! We had already purchased big boy furniture for Graedy so I had already moved the nursery furniture in, which made it a little tight.

No taping, just a steady hand. I lined the floor with plastic drop cloths and began measuring for the horizontal lines I planned to paint. I measured up from the floor and marked the wall with pencil every two feet or so. I then used a large piece of cardboard to connect the marks and draw my line.

I had planned on having no pink anywhere in the room or on my little girl, but after falling in love with a bedding set at Pottery Barn Kids, I realized the color scheme was going to involve pink. However, it was NOT going to be pepto pink! I chose a muted apple green and medium pink. I love painting, it's so much fun to watch how dramatically it changes a room! I wasn't worried about painting a straight line between the green and pink because I knew I was going to add a chair rail once I was finished.

Add a little pink...
And a cute white chair rail...
Voila! The first stage was complete. It reminded me of a candy shop due to the detail on the chair rail and the bright colors. I was so happy with the finished product and couldn't wait to start adding all the extras!

Desert Trip; January 2011
Beautiful day in the desert, family, jeeps...who could ask for more? We had a fantastic time and this trip led us to start looking into buying and saving for a jeep of our own.
Checking out the shadows.
Hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa.
Grandma, Uncle Russ and Graedy at the train trussle.
Matt feeling a bit silly :)
There's no question Grandpa loves Graedy...he let him drive his new jeep!
Not sure he wants to be awake!
The narrows.
Mitch- 5'11". This gives you an idea how tall the walls of the wash are.
My mom and I. We hiked up a hill at the end of the wash. Along the way we found a tarantula which freaked some people out (not me...) and it turned out to be dead.
Some of the scenery from the top of the wash.
We found a spot to stop and have some lunch. Uncle Russ took Graedy for a walk while we got everything set up.
We had carne asada burritos and mom brought a seven layer dip. Graedy loved the chips, which ended up all over the front of him!
